10 Things that made me smile!

Happy Monday- hope that you all survived the dreaded day without too much grief. I have just survived by the skin of my teeth!


Here is this weeks list of things that made me smile.

1. Going back to Melbourne in 2 more days- fingers crossed the dreaded ash cloud does not leave us stranded over here in Perth.
2. Pictures of my gorgeous niece Isabel dressed in her fairy dress for her 4th Birthday, girls only, fairy party- so me when I was little.
3. Real Housewives of New York- these women are so over the top, and so unbelievable that it is absolutely hysterical. Alex and her husband are such social climbers it is painful to watch, at one point I had to cover my eyes and squealed- I just couldn't watch. Too funny!
4. Lamont's Creme Caramel for dessert on Friday night- as promised it was delicious, and I don't normally like Creme Caramel.
5. So excited about my sister in law and her fiance getting married next weekend.
6. Finally getting my eyebrows shaped and tinted- this is saving me so much time in the morning (which is now getting eaten up by my new high maintenance fringe).
7. Dry shampoo- genius for controlling high maintenance fringes.
8. Window shopping at Cult Status and seeing the gorgeous canary yellow PS1 Pouchette and divine YSL Tribtoo Pumps- if only to win Tattslotto and buy them.
9. Snuggling on the couch all day Sunday with magazines, dvd's and chocolate, and not feeling guilty as it was such a rainy horrible day.
10. Having a nice hot shower and jumping into a freshly made bed.

1. Flawless skin- helped out with a soft finish foundation, no luminiser or blush required

2. Metallic Jade Green Cat’s Eye Liner- Chanel Stylo Yeux Pencil in Jade

It's all about the tomato red lip, which is applied in layers to maximise staying power- lipstick then a thin layer of translucent face powder, lipstick and so on. I am guessing about 2-3 layers would do the trick. Also, note below lip liner and a lip brush are also essential for perfect red lip application.

I am going to try this out at home, perfect when wearing an all black/grey outfit for and you feel like you need a pop of colour. Don't you just love that Australia has the wintery weather now to try out these catwalk beauty looks straight away!

I hate Mondays. 

Most weeks I can't wait to see the back of them, and today I was particularly uninspired about the week ahead- that was until I read a motivating post on Sarah Wilson's blog about Gala Darling (check it out by clicking here). It turned my day around, so I had to share.

So each Monday I am planning to list 10 Things that made me smile- inspired by Gala Darling and Sarah Wilson.


Here is my very first list- enjoy!

1. Hot chocolate from DJ's food court
2. The new movie Bridesmaids
3. Having a gorgeous afternoon nap in my bed (instead of the couch) on Sat afternoon
4. Freshly pedicured toes (OPI Siberian Nights) and manicured fingernails (OPI Bubble Bath)
5. Going back to Melbourne in 9 days- HOORAY!
6. Ordering 3 exciting new books from Bookdepository.com
7. A yummy Saturday night dinner with Ben @ Vans
8. Keeping cosy in winter PJ's
9. Phone calls with gorgeous friends that I don't speak to often enough x
10. Ben and I feeling our baby's big kicks- and both of us laughing hysterically in response!
